For crying out loud Magnifico was literally stealing people's dreams! Some of those dreams could be pretty good, like that Peter Pan lookalike at the end that dreamed of making a flying machine, and I saw one dream orb where a woman was playing the violin, maybe she wanted to create a new kind of music, or what if someone wanted to discover a new land, or write a great novel, I'm not saying Magnifico should have granted them but he didn't have to force them to forget. He could have told them they would have to fulfill their dreams on their own instead of letting them believe he might grant them, giving them false hope. And Saba's wish wasn't dangerous in the least and Magnifico knew that, he just saw that it washed beneficial to him and that's why he wouldn't grant it. And Asha told him he should give people back their wishes if he wasn't going to grant them so they can try and fulfill them on their own but he refused. The way I see it he was basically keeping his subjects from thinking they could accomplish anything, and that only he could make anything come true.

The only thing that would make this better would be if the announced a new house of mouse after this. Its always fun to see the entire collective of them together

People aren't giving Magnifico enough credit here. He makes some really, really solid philosophical points. Even the Buddha himself said pain comes from desiring something we cannot have. I think it really comes to the issue of informed consent. Do people know they'll forget their wish when they give it to him? If not, that would be the case that what's he's doing is morally wrong.

Okay, this is actually an interesting philosophical discussion. Both make good points. But 0:52, do people not know they forget their wish? How would this be possible? Wouldn't someone ask a loved one what they wished for, and then find it really suspicious if they didn't remember? Unless there's some rule that you never talk about your wish. I guess that system could work. Does the movie touch on this at all?
